Cooking Japanese dishes by yourself is another alternative to save some money in the mean time to enjoy the real Japanese taste recipes from your own home.

Below are some Japanese taste of home healthy cookbook recipes which will definitely let you and your family enjoy a luxurious yet affordable dinner:

Tofu Dengaku
Japanese have a long history of eating miso-topped tofu. This nutritious dish came to be called dengaku, named for the wooden skewers on which it was sometimes cooked. These long skewers were reminiscent of the stilts worn in an ancient dance of the same name.

Making this dish is easy. First wrap the tofu with a clean dish towel. Put two plates on top of tofu leave aside to extract any excess moisture. Meanwhile, combine the 100g miso, 1 egg york, 2 teaspoons dashi, 2 teaspoons mirin and 2 teaspoons sugar in a bowl. Whisk until smooth. Preheat the grill, lightly brush the tofu blocks with little vegetables oil and grill until lightly brown. Thickly spread the miso mixture onto one side and sit under the grill again, miso side up for a few minutes or golden in color. Sprinkled with some sesame seeds and serve immediately.

Sake-glazed Salmon
Both savory and sweet often mingle in Japanese cuisine. These tender and juicy salmon slices are served with a lightly sweetened soy sauce and butter glazed. Usually serve with a vegetable side dish and a bowl of hot steamed rice.

You will need to have 500g salmon fillets lightly season with salt. Heat the oils in a frying pan and cook the salmon pieces with skin side down over medium-high heat. Cook about 3 minutes and reduce the heat to medium. Turn fish over and cook for further 2 - 3 minutes. Be careful not to overcooked the salmon. Remove the salmon from the pan, cover and set aside. Remove any excess oil from the frying pan, mix in butter, sake, soy sauce, mirin, sugar and ginger to the pan. Increase the heat and stir to dissolve the sugar. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring until slightly thickened. Drizzle the glaze over salmon.

Days Gone By Old Fashion Recipes: Pork Chops W/Potatoes, Indiana Persimmon Bread, Ham Deviled Eggs

We all need comfort food and a reminder of mom or grandma's kitchen from time to time. These old fashion recipes are as good today as they were then. Share your memories with your family while you sit around the table enjoying this dishes! Pork Chops with Potatoes is a recipe from a lady in the church where I grew in Southern Indiana. We often had church fellowships, all day meetings with dinner on the grounds, etc where the "church ladies" provided the food and we children played and ate! Good memories, for sure. Deviled eggs were often a part of such meals and this recipe for Ham Deviled Eggs is a little different than most. In the Fall in Southern Indiana one of the most beloved food is persimmons. These persimmons are small little fruits about like the size of a cherry tomato. A ritual of the season is gathering persimmons, sometimes called persimmon picking although that is a misnomer. These little jewels are very bitter until they are ripe. We usually wait until they fall from the trees and then they are delicious. The Persimmon Bread recipe here, is a real Southern Indiana treat.

PORK CHOPS WITH POTATOES
2 cups potatoes, sliced thin
1 tsp salt
4 pork chops
1 small onion, sliced
4 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
pepper

Arrange potatoes and onion in layers in a greased baking dish. season with salt and pepper. Trim fat off pork chops and roll chops in some flour, then brown in a pan on each side and remove from pan.

Set aside all, except 1 tablespoon of the fat from the pork chop pan. Brown the flour with the fat in the pan. Add the milk. Blend until smooth and cook to a thin white sauce. Pour sauce over the potatoes. Top with the chops. Cover dish and bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.

HAM DEVILED EGGS
6 hard-boiled eggs
3 tbsp finely chopped cooked ham
2 tbsp mayonnaise
2 tbsp softened cream cheese
1 tsp prepared mustard
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp caraway seeds
paprika, if desired

Cut egg in half lengthwise. Remove yolks and set whites aside.

In a small bowl, mash egg yolks with a fork. Add the ham, mayonnaise, cream cheese, mustard, lemon juice, and caraway seeds to the mashed yolks. Stir the mixture to blend well. Refill the egg whites with the mixture using a heaping tablespoon of the mixture per egg white half. Sprinkle with paprika, if desired.

MIDWEST-STYLE PERSIMMON BREAD
1 1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup persimmon pulp
1/3 cup cold water
1 2/3 cups flour
1 tsp soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup raisins
2/3 cup chopped pecans or hickory nuts

Cream sugar and butter. Add the eggs, persimmon pulp, and cold water. Sift the dry ingredients together an add to the persimmon mixture. Add the raisins and nuts. Pour into a well-greased loaf baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Cool and drizzle with glaze.
GLAZE: 3 tbsp powdered sugar, 1 tbsp water, 1 tsp lemon juice. Mix together.

Enjoy!

Italian Recipes: Traditional Roman Soup

Italian cuisine is perhaps the most widely recognized and famous globally - nearly every civilized country has assimilated pasta and pizza alongside their own national dishes, and one can always find an Italian restaurant. But I wonder how much of what is regarded as "Italian food" actually comes from authentic Italian recipes. Pizzas are the most obvious example, having undergone major changes to accommodate to the American palate.

However, when you go back to it's roots, Italian recipes are essentially about good, healthy food - olive oil, vegetables and bread being the most common ingredients.
Today, I'd like to introduce you to a traditional Roman soup, to be served with warm bread. A simple French bread will suffice.

Ingredients
1 lb potatoes
1 litre of water
Garlic
Chilli pepper
Salt
5 oz Pelati tomatoes (or sauce)
1 lb of chicory
Extra virgin olive oil
Bread

Preparation
Pour the water into a hot earthenware pot (a large sauce pan will suffice).
Cut the potatoes into thick slices, and crush two cloves of garlic. Add this to the water, along with the chilli pepper, 1 table spoon of salt and the tomatoes. Bring to a the boil, then reduce the flame and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Finally, add the chicory and simmer a little longer unless the soup thickens.
Drizzle the olive oil on the bread and serve.
This is a simple but delicious recipe, but it isn't so filling that no one will have room for dessert. May I suggest a little Tiramisu perhaps?

You can find more authentic, healthy Italian recipes at this website.

Easy French Toast Recipes

French toast is easy to make and is a delicious dish. However, it is not easy to know exactly, where French toast comes from. Long ago it was much harder to come by food, and there was not very many ways in which to lengthen the life of many foods short of salting them for curing, so people used what they had available to feed their families. There are so many interesting stories and opinions of where it all began. Down through the ages and in nearly every country there is a variation of what is called French toast by some. This appealing treat is known by many names since times medieval.

French toast is made using different ingredients, some are sweet to the taste, while yet others are strong and savory. Overall, they made use of what they had in hand and one thing they have in common is making use of stale bread.

French toast is oh so easy to make, with the simplest or the most extensive list of ingredients, whether for a morning meal, a daytime snack or even as a light quick fix supper. You should really try some French toast.

You will need a bowl and a whisk or fork. A griddle of sorts, a skillet or frying pan will suffice; as well, you shall have a spatula. French toast also needs a platter and plates for many or a plate for each serving. You will also need forks or spoons as is preferred by individual tastes of course for eating the French toast as well as for serving utensils of condiments and garnishes while dinning. If possible, have a warm area to keep the French toast in when making more than one serving as this helps contain the warmth of the meal itself, although, cold French toast is very good too.

An Easy French Toast Recipe for an individual serving.

You will need:

Two slices of bread, your choice
Three quarter cup of milk
One teaspoon vanilla extract
One teaspoon ground cinnamon
One pinch of salt or not
One egg
Butter
An Easy French Toast Recipe for multiple servings.

You will need:

8 slices of bread, your choice
3 to 4 eggs
1 ½-cup tomato sauce
1 teaspoon minced garlic
¼ teaspoon of onion powder

A bit of cooked meat is added, if you so choose also salt and pepper to taste.

You shall beat the eggs first then add each wet ingredient while continuing to mix thoroughly. It is best to add all dry ingredients into one concoction, and then add dry mixture into the wet batter mix, stirring as you continue. When meat or other preserves are prepared with French toast they are usually a topping of an accompaniment.

While you are mixing the batter, you should also be warming a pre-lubricated griddle. Use enough butter or oil to cook the French toast. This is over a medium heat.

Place the bread into the batter and cover both sides, however do remember that the more stale a piece of bread the longer it should stay to soak up the batter. However, a fresher piece of bread will not take as long to become pudding in the batter if left longer than needed.

Place bread on griddle and lightly brown on both sides, turning once until crisp.

Add preferred toppings, serve up hot and enjoy!

Pinoy Food - How to Cook Afritada - Filipino Recipes

Bread Pan

One of the specialties that Filipinos have inherited from their Spanish colonizers is the Afritada. It is a delectably rich stew mostly made up of potatoes and pork soaked in thick tomato sauce.

Ingredients:

750 grams of pork belly or liempo (sliced into 2 x 2 cubes)
250 grams of potatoes
3 to 4 pieces of tomatoes (coarsely chopped)
¾ cup of frozen sweet peas (thawed)
2 red or green bell peppers
1 whole garlic (finely minced)
2 large onions
2 carrots
2 bay leaves
¾ cup of tomato paste
½ teaspoon of dried oregano
½ teaspoon of dried rosemary
½ teaspoon of dried basil
6 tablespoons of olive oil
2 cups of meat broth

Cooking Instructions:

In a thick pan, heat the olive oil. Add the pork cubes when the oil is hot. Go on cooking until the edges of the meat start to turn brown. Place under high heat until fat starts to ooze out.
When the pork is already browned, take out the excess oil from the meat.
Add the bay leaves, garlic, tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir well. Add salt and pepper for seasoning.
Pour meat broth into the pan and stir well. Let simmer with the pan covered for about 15 minutes.
Add all the vegetables to the cooking stew and mix well. Then add the basil, rosemary and oregano. Cover the pan again and allow to simmer for about 25 minutes or until the meat and vegetables are thoroughly cooked. More broth can be added but take note that a richer and thicker sauce makes a better Afritada.
Add the sweet peas and cook for an addition 2 to 3 minutes.
Best served while hot.

Campfire Cooking Recipes - Pizza

Bread Pan

One of the little known campfire cooking recipes is for pizza. Try the advice below and you'll make a tradition of having pizza while camping!

Start by purchasing pre-made crusts from the grocery store or making your own crusts the night before you leave on your camping trip. You will need to take along a frying pan for cooking the pizza so it would be a good idea to pack the crusts in the pan so they don't break while in transit. The frying pan will also provide an even surface while cooking so the crusts don't crumble and break. If you are going to want to add meat to your pizza such as browned hamburger or sausage, purchase lean meats at the store and prepare from home. Some other meat toppings may include bacon, chicken or salami. Pick whatever you normally enjoy on your pizza. Put the meat in an airtight container after it has cooled and store overnight in the refrigerator. If you will be traveling with foods that may go bad if not refrigerated, take along a cooler with ice and keep the foods safe for consumption.

After brushing on some olive oil, spread tomato sauce and the desired spices onto the crusts. At this point, consider adding some chopped garlic for great taste. Add the toppings of your choice to the pizzas. Try tomatoes, pepperoni, shredded cheese and assorted vegetables to create your specialty pizza. Great additions to the pizza might be mushrooms, green peppers, onions and zucchini. Remember that the crust will be the closest to the fire and it won't take long for the crust to brown. If you have a lot of toppings that will need heating through, the crust may burn. If you add the vegetables on top of the cheese, the cheese is not likely to overcook. When you have finished creating your pizza, cover the pan tightly with tin foil. It may be beneficial to spray the foil with nonstick spray so the melted cheese will not stick. Move away the hotter coals from the bottom of the fire and nestle the pizza pan into the bed underneath. To cook the pizza from both the top and the bottom, add a few hot kindling pieces on top of the foil. This will cook from the top and the bottom and ensure even heating.

If you would like try a different tasting pizza, consider using cooked chicken and barbeque sauce instead of pizza sauce. The smoked taste will really come through after cooking on a fire.

Once the cheese is hot and bubbly, the pizza is ready to enjoy. Take care to remove the foil as steam has likely built up in the container and may burn you. Allow the pizza to cool as the insides are very hot. Nothing spoils a camping trip like a burned tongue!

Body Detox Recipe Options-How to Make Your Recipes Detox Friendly

Bread Pan

You do not have to have a special body detox recipe book in order to enjoy the benefits of it. In fact you can use your favorite recipes to make your own body detox recipe book. The first thing you need to do is pick out your favorite recipes. You will want ones that cover breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most people just grab some cereal or fast food for breakfast but that contains huge amounts of things, which can cause your body to slow down and can help to build toxins within your system.

It is a good idea to have a solid plan for what you are going to make for breakfast. If you need something quick consider making things like quiche or breakfast burritos that are home made and can simply be reheated. This is the first step to making a variety of body detox recipe options.

To avoid preservatives make your own wraps and breads. Bread makers are fairly standard equipment for kitchens and you can get organic wheat flour. Simply freeze what you are not using to store. This is a healthy alternative to prevent you from adding toxins from processed foods back into your diet. For lunch recipes consider home made bread for your sandwich or a salad. You can even enjoy a vegetable stir fry. If possible reheat in a pan rather than a microwave or eat cold. Simply substitute organic ingredients and tofu. When making stir fry or any type of dish involving vegetables cook for a short time on high heat and make sure the vegetables are as fresh as possible. This is probably one if not the most important thing when it comes to making a body detox recipe.

Drinks are favorites because you can fit so much more into a drink or juice than food. Consider modifying smoothie and healthy juice drinks recipe options by placing a variety of antioxidant and omega fatty acid rich fruits such as coconut or Acai along with blueberries. This can make a wonderful drink option and some of the juice combinations make a wonderful marinade for meat that can turn a normal marinade recipe into a body detox recipe.

As you can see it is not hard to make any recipe into a body detox recipe. You simply need to modify ingredients and be willing to make a few adjustments for taste. In fact, you may be surprised to find that a recipe modification comes out better than the original and not just in taste. These types of recipe modifications can help you to feel better as well and have more energy. It does not take a special body detox recipe book to provide the perfect recipes for your detox diet. How to Make Flax Meal Bread - Recipes For Fat Loss

Eating bread and staying lean typically don't go hand in hand. You can't have your bread and eat it too, so to speak.

One of the major problems is that most breads are packed full of over processed and for real digested flour.

Bread Pan

This high carbohydrate article combined with very small amounts of fibre and you have a blood sugar surge waiting to happen.

This can be a good thing if you have just smashed or are about to have an intense workout. Otherwise a recipe for disaster and will just add a bit more to your waistline.

Now instead of turning this into an anti bread article, I'm going to offer you an alternative that will tick off a lot more boxes nutritionally.

Flax meal bread is as good for you as it sounds. Flax seeds, flax meal etc are a great source of fibre, omega 3's and protein. As such whatever that is made with flax as a main ingredient is going to be pretty good for you as well.

Follow this recipe and let me know what you think.

Ingredients
2 Cups Flax Meal 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder 2 Teaspoons Stevia 5 Eggs 1/2 Cup Water 1/3 Cup Oil

With regard to the 'exact' ingredients you use, obviously the higher the quality, the better the end goods will be. This will vary depending on your location and availability of dissimilar brands or products.

To start with put all of the dry ingredients (the flax meal, baking powder and stevia) into a large mixing bowl and incorporate well. I used a whisk which works well. In a cut off bowl, beat the eggs with a whisk. Add the water and oil to the eggs and give them a quick mix before adding it to the dry ingredients.

Give it all a quick mix together just with the whisk or a wooden spoon. It will go thick in a hurry so just get it all mixed together and then pour it into a lined pan. A square or rectangle pan about 25cm or 10 inches will be perfect. You will need to flatten the mix out to the edges with your hand or a spoon but in a pan this size it should be about 2cm thick all around.

Bake for 20 minutes @ 190 degrees Celsius, fan forced. The mix should be 'browning' on top, risen a tiny and spring back up when touched.

Fresh baked bread tastes great and this is no different. From this recipe I get eight slices. So out of the pan I cut it into four even squares. From each square I then slice in half to make two, well, slices!

From there what I propose is to toast it and top with almond butter. Peanut butter is just as nice. Just make sure the topping is a healthy selection and will help you to lose stomach fat.

Because it is quite heavy, one slice will be more than sufficient and I'd propose having it with a cup of your favourite tea as well.

5 Bread Maker formula Tips

Bread makers are one of those great inventions of our times that can make all things so simple, yet for some speculate production great bread always seems so hard. However theres no use in complaining and wondering why the bread always turns out wrong when by applying some of my beloved tips below you can promptly be creating some of the best tasting, healthiest and best looking bread ever.

When cooking the bread you must always ensure you use the accurate kind of flour, using the wrong flour will only make the bread too hard and crusty. Bread flour contains more protein than all purpose flour, meaning when you cook your bread with bread flour it makes stronger, fluffier and larger loaves. Ensuring you use bread flour also means the bread will be healthier for you and have more beneficial effects.

Bread Pan

If you often have problems with the bread having wrinkled tops there is a great solution for your problem. Adding 2 teaspoons of rye flour for every cup of flour you use in the recipe will stop the tops of the bread from having a wrinkled top and make it look better.

When adding the ingredients to the bread machine, you must ensure you add them in the right order every time. Commonly the best way to do this is to either pour all your liquids into the engine first, then add the solids, then the yeast. Or you can do it in reverse, by first adding the yeast, then the solids, then all your liquids. The speculate for this is that moisture of any kind activates the yeast, thus if the yeast mixes with the liquids before the bread has even started cooking its going to make a bad tasting loaf.

Always ensure you use water that is at room temperature when cooking your bread. If cold water is used to cook the bread it won't set in motion the yeast causing the bread to not rise and cook properly. If hot water is used in the cooking it will speed up the yeast too much causing the bread to rise too quickly and overcook. Using very hot water will wholly kill the yeast.

The last tip I leave for you today is always keep the bread engine manual and any data booklets that came with the machine, these booklets often include great tips and info for using the bread engine to make the best tasting bread ever. Also when using your engine use a surge protector in the middle of it and the wall, as bread machines computer chips are very sensitive to voltage fluctuations and as such if a surge hits the engine it could scramble the system.

Thats all from me today, have fun and happy cooking.
