Pita bread is one of the most beneficial varieties of bread and can be used for many purposes and dishes. Its versatility is underestimated and there are many times when it is much more convenient than quarterly bread. The preparation time listed in books normally includes the rising time for the dough, so do not be put off by that.
To make that actual bread you will need to begin a sachet of yeast. Do this by adding it to a tablespoon of sugar in a bowl. Pour in 1/2 cup of warm water and leave it to stand and ferment for about ten minutes. Dissolve 2 teaspoons of salt in a cup of warm water and add this and the yeast compound into a bowl containing 4 cups of flour. Mix this into dough, using your hands, and knead this until it is smooth. This will probably take colse to 10 minutes or so. Pour a minute olive oil over the dough and knead for someone else five minutes. Leave your dough to rise for a merge of hours in a covered bowl somewhere fairly warm. Once the dough is about twice its primary size, knead it again for a few minutes and cut and roll into the desired size and shape. Bake them in an oven at 350 degrees F for just two or three minutes. It is best to bake them on cookie sheets to make sure that they do not stick. When they are cool you can store them in an airtight container ready for use. Heat them in a skillet with a minute oil when you want to use them.
