Kitchen Gadgets Make Perfect All Occasion Gifts

Ever had a last minute party or friend stop by where a gift was required and there was absolutely nothing handy to pass out? Maybe there were thoughts of a parent or friend who always had a well-stocked gift cupboard for just this situation and plans set to create a gift drawer for occasions that may came up in the future. Whatever the reason or event, a kitchen gadget can make a great gift for any guy, or gal, be it for birthdays, holidays or just plain old celebrations.
The term 'kitchen gadgets' cover such a variety of items that it's hard not to have something to give anyone no matter what their skill is with pots and pans or recipes. There are fantastic spoons and ladles that can really help stir things up. Get quality ones in small sets or singles because they will weather the years better and be less likely to scratch or mar other items in the kitchen. Holiday dish towels are great and inexpensive to keep around during the season in case a friend could show up with something creating an awkward situation if nothing is available to exchange. The same is true for oven mitts or hot pads.
Maybe high tech kitchen gadgets are more the style for this particular occasion. If that's the case there are literally hundreds to choose from. Thermometers are a great starting place, as are timers that help keep a chef on task. Perhaps a meat injector could be a wonderful enhancement for this cook. This could be too small of a scale though, and the thought pattern may be more around blenders, mixers or processors. In the case of any item for the kitchen it's wise to remember quality is something that has to be paid for. These items cost less in the long run because they break down far less often and are longer lived.
There are many fantastic in house grills that offer leaner meals that are both quick and have little clean up. Same goes for omelet makers or waffle irons. There are counter top electric skillets to help get a chain of pancakes going on a quiet Sunday morning or even bread machines to fill the whole house with the warm smell of bread, reminding most people of a beloved relative. Maybe a nice organizer for inside the refrigerator or a great spice rack for the pantry. There are items that help keep utensil drawers in order or recipes in their spot for those looking to get more organized.
Whatever the celebration, kitchen gadgets are great to have on hand to spring on a friend as a gift. If there is time to plan for a party, even better, an opportunity to figure out what this kitchen most needs and what can fit with in the budget. The most important thing to remember is quality comes in all shapes and sizes and it's best to avoid cheap kitchen gadgets, as they are often poorly made.

Seven Awesome Kitchen Gadgets

Everyone who cooks can use some of these practical, time saving kitchen tools. While you can get by with a bare bones kitchen and a few old pots and pans, a lot of dishes are harder to make or more time consuming to prepare. The items in this list can free up some of your time, help you make delicious meals, store leftovers and even make the kitchen a fun place. So without further ado, here are some of my favorite kitchen gadgets. I hope you like them.

1. Bread Maker

Imagine getting up in the morning to the smell of freshly baked bread, ready for you to take out of the machine and slice up for toast or for lunch sandwiches. And all you had to do was load the ingredients the night before, then set the timer.

2. Automatic Coffee Maker

This goes well with the bread maker. Add coffee grounds and water, set the clock and have coffee waiting for you when you stumble out of bed in the morning. Rise and shine!

3. High Quality Knife Set

I used to make do with an old set of mismatched knives given to me without a knife block. Some of the handles were loose, and they had to be stored in a drawer. The new set sits on the counter top. The edges stay sharp longer, and the set contains knives for most needs. More room in the drawer, too.

4. Plastic Food Containers

With a set of containers for food storage, saving leftovers is much easier. Many have lids with vents, for use in microwaves. Another way to use them is to freeze food for future use. They look better than old margarine and yogurt containers, too.

5.Immersion Blender

These hand-held gadgets can be placed in large drinking glasses, pots, or mixing bowls. You can mix drinks, baking ingredients, gravies or even whip potatoes. They take up less space and are easier to clean than traditional blenders as well.

6. Toaster Oven

A toaster oven can cook toasted items with toppings, like garlic bread and mini pizzas, as well as make toast. Small baking projects are possible too, if you don't want to or can't use a larger oven.

7.Sandwich Grill

For grilled cheese, tuna melts and patty melts, these grills seal the edge of the sandwich so cheese and other things can't leak out.

These are some of the kitchen gadgets I like to use myself. For the larger items, maybe you can borrow one to test drive it before you buy. That is what I did with the bread maker. Our food containers, coffee maker and hand blender see daily use, and the toaster oven and sandwich grill once or twice a week. All in all, a good investment for my family. Happy cooking!
